About the work

Human Status Quo

The world is home to all kinds of people, from the well-known (celebrities) to the unknown (regular citizens). What do we have in common? Are we all vulnerable? Are we all precious and valuable?

Does one person have more to say than another simply because of status and money? Can those with wealth and influence still succumb to global issues like COVID-19, or lose everything to life’s challenges? And truly, how much can a person of status actually do for the world?

Furthermore, is the person with status and money aware that they can be (ab)used by the system just as much as a regular citizen?

A well-known person served as the inspiration for this art piece. Their name will not be disclosed; it is up to the beholder to decide who it might be and to feel how much the work resonates.
